Restorative Dentistry

Restorative Dentistry

Fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant restorations to repair damage and replace missing teeth.

Fillings and crowns

A filling can repair a smaller area of decay or damage. When a tooth is weakened, badly worn, or has lost more structure, a crown can cover and protect it. Your dentist will explain why one option may be more appropriate than the other.

Bridges

A dental bridge can replace one or more missing teeth when the neighboring teeth can support the restoration. The goal is to restore the space, improve function, and create a result that fits with the surrounding teeth.

Implant restorations

If a dental implant has been placed by a specialist or another provider, Inverness Family Dentistry can complete the visible restoration when appropriate. The restoration is the crown or other prosthetic tooth that attaches to the implant.

Full and partial dentures

Full and partial dentures can replace several missing teeth and remain a practical option for many patients. Fit, appearance, daily care, and follow-up all matter. Your dentist can explain the available options and what each would require over time.

Planning the repair

Restorative care begins by understanding how much healthy tooth remains, how the tooth functions, and what needs to be replaced or protected. The office can discuss the immediate problem as well as the maintenance a restoration may need in the years ahead.
